Sueños desprendidos (Loose dreams)

      by Belén Román-Morales

      Las hojas amarillas
      caen lentamente de mis hombros.
      Y siento que al caer
      se me desprenden los sueños.

      Los pétalos marchitos
      se fugan en silencio
      hacia el vacío,
      y siento que me quedo
      sin imagen ante el espejo.

      Tu indiferencia
      desgarró las yerbas frescas
      de mi alma,
      y siento que regreso
      al dolor de la nada.

      The yellow leaves
      fall slowly from my shoulders
and I feel that when they fall
      they loose my dreams.

      The wilting petals
      flee in silence
      towards the emptiness,
and I feel I'm left with
      no image in the mirror.

      Your indifference
      ripped out the young grass
      from my soul,
      and I feel I'm returning
to the pain of the void.
